[ For Product Researchers ]
Work a comparable product board instead of mixed keyword exports
TrendMetric is built for people whose job is product research: one ranked catalog, the same fields on every row, country switching on stored volumes, then Forecast and Tracked when a thesis is worth watching. It is not a spreadsheet of random keywords, not a Chrome plugin that scrapes stores, and not an accuracy claim on scores. Dropshippers use a faster scan of the same catalog; this page is the slower, column-by-column pass.
- One board: search volume, growth, competition, trend, seasonality, VolumeScore™
- Same 0–100 rank so two catalog products can be compared without mixing methods
- 7D / 30D Tracked change starts when you save the row — not from history you never watched
Researchers typically chain: Trending Products, VolumeScore™, Tracked Also see For Dropshippers and For Brand Owners.
VolumeScore™
Oval Makeup Brush
76.0K/mo search volume
- Demand25% weight
Log-scaled monthly search volume as a quality-of-interest signal.
- Growth20% weight
Blend of 30-day and 90-day growth so spikes do not dominate.
- Consistency15% weight
Inverse volatility of the 12-month series.
- Competition15% weight
Lower crowding scores higher; high density is a penalty.
- Seasonality10% weight
Year-round demand scores higher than sharp calendar dependence.
- Momentum15% weight
Recent three months versus the prior three on the same series.
Weights are the scoring recipe. The ring is the live composite when a catalog product is available — not a sales prediction.
A researcher’s board is a catalog, not a keyword API
Trending Products only lists catalog products that meet live rules, including a usable image. You can search by name or category and sort by VolumeScore™, volume, or growth. If the keyword is not in the catalog, there is no row to score. That is intentional.
VolumeScore™ compresses stored demand, growth, series consistency, competition, seasonality, and momentum into 0–100. Read the columns beside the ring. Strong demand with High competition still needs a Test, not a victory lap.
Growth, trend, and seasonality on the same series
30D and 90D growth sit next to Rising / Steady / Cooling so a holiday spike is visible. Seasonality describes how calendar-dependent the series looks. None of those labels promise that next month will look like the last 30 days.
When you need the market around a SKU, jump to Trending Markets. Estimated revenue is a range. Do not treat it as a TAM you can take to a buyer meeting as fact. Brand owners start here when the decision is a category, not a single SKU.
Research hygiene: forecast, then track from today
Forecast a catalog product for 30D or 90D when you want a range and a recommendation. Longer horizons exist and are less precise. Track Forecast as a separate product is not live.
Tracked snapshots start on the track date. If 7D / 30D cannot be computed yet, the workspace says so. Paid accounts can opt in to Tracked emails in Settings. One delivery address per account.
The fields product researchers compare on every row
Search volume
Stored monthly demand. Country views use stored country volumes.
Growth
30D and 90D on the same series so short noise is not the whole story.
Competition
Low / Medium / High from stored crowding — comparable across catalog rows.
Trend + sparkline
Direction from stored history when enough points exist.
VolumeScore™
Fixed-weight 0–100 rank. Starting point, not a verdict.
Seasonality
How calendar-shaped the series looks versus year-round demand.
A product-research loop that stays honest
Rank the board
Sort Trending Products by VolumeScore™, then inspect growth and competition before you open a row.
Write the caveat
If history is thin or competition is High, the score is still a test. Forecast will drop confidence accordingly.
Save the thesis
Track the product. Optional: a Project note with country so the next pass uses the same view.
For in-house researchers, operators, and analysts who need one comparable catalog — not a keyword crawler and not a guaranteed opportunity score.

Product researcher FAQ
Can I type any keyword and get VolumeScore™?+
Only catalog products. Search Product outside the catalog is not live. VolumeScore™ exists on Trending Products rows.
How is VolumeScore™ calculated?+
It blends stored demand, 30D/90D growth, series consistency, competition, seasonality, and recent momentum into a 0–100 rank with fixed weights. It is not a prediction of revenue.
Why don’t 7D / 30D Tracked metrics show immediately?+
They only count snapshots after the track date. If not enough history exists yet, TrendMetric says so instead of inventing a prior baseline.
Is the catalog updated in real time?+
The product catalog used in Trending Products refreshes about every 12 hours. That is a catalog refresh, not a continuous crawl of every store.
Which plans include the full research board?+
Starter includes Trending Products, Trending Markets, and VolumeScore™. Forecast, Who’s Scaling, and AI Market Analysis are on Pro and Business. Tracked and Projects caps rise with plan.
