ROI calculator for ecommerce spend
Enter what you put in and what you got back. The calculator returns net profit, ROI, and a return multiple using the same accounting identity operators use in a spreadsheet.
ROI answers a narrow question: for the cash you already spent, how much profit came back? It is not a demand score, and it does not know whether that product is still searching.
Use it after a test — ads, samples, a wholesale buy — when you have actual dollars in and dollars out. Pair it with catalog research when you need to know if the next dollar should even be spent.

Questions
Is ROI the same as ROAS?+
No. ROAS is revenue ÷ ad spend. ROI subtracts the investment (and any extra costs you enter) first, then divides by that investment. A campaign can show strong ROAS and still lose money after COGS.
Do I need a TrendMetric account?+
No. This calculator is unlimited and runs in the browser. Catalog research lives in the workspace.
Should I include COGS in investment?+
If the money left your account for that bet, include it. For a paid-ad test, investment is usually ad spend; put product cost in other costs or use the ecommerce profit calculator instead.
Why can ROI be negative?+
If return is smaller than investment plus other costs, net profit is negative and ROI is negative. That is the formula working, not an error.
