[ For Brand Owners ]
Choose the next brand category without stacking TAM
TrendMetric gives brand owners a demand board for catalog products and markets: MarketScore™, estimated monthly revenue ranges, Who’s Scaling, AI monthly snapshots, and country switching on stored volumes. It is research on history TrendMetric already stores. It is not a brand-analytics suite, not a wholesale CRM, and not observed checkout from your DTC stack. Ecommerce agencies often run the same market pass before a retainer kickoff.
- Compare parent markets and submarkets on their own scores — never stacked TAM
- Use Who’s Scaling when you care about a revenue floor plus momentum, not only % growth
- Switch country on the same stack when a launch is local, not worldwide

Category TAM when sourced; otherwise Search-Modeled Revenue. Not checkout data.
Line extensions start in markets, not mood boards
Trending Markets scores each market independently. Estimated revenue and TAM are modeled monthly ranges for comparison. They are not Shopify totals, not Amazon rank, and not a license to add the parent’s TAM to every child.
If you are choosing between two categories for the next SKU, read MarketScore™, demand, competition, and the revenue range on each Trending Markets row. Then open Who’s Scaling when tiny markets with huge percentage jumps would otherwise win the meeting.
Expansion is a stored country view, not extra money
Country switching reuses stored country volumes on products, markets, Who’s Scaling, AI Market Analysis, Forecast, and Projects. Worldwide remains the complete picture. A US view is not additional demand on top of Worldwide — compare the views; do not add them.
Projects can hold a country so notes and forecast summaries stay on one geography. That is a research folder, not a PIM or a retailer portal.
What a brand should not expect from TrendMetric
There is no live scrape of every retailer carrying your SKU. Search Product outside the catalog is not live. AI Market Analysis only speaks from stored monthly snapshots — missing months stay missing. Product researchers still need a catalog row before VolumeScore™ exists.
Forecasts are demand ranges with a stance, not a production-plan. VolumeScore™ on a catalog product is a research rank, not a wholesale order quantity.
Brand research metrics without stacked TAM
MarketScore™
Independent attractiveness rank for a market or submarket from stored demand, momentum, and competition.
Estimated revenue
Modeled monthly range for comparison. Not observed checkout, ads, or wholesale invoices.
TAM
Modeled the same way as revenue. Never summed across parent and child.
Who’s Scaling floor
Ranking requires a meaningful estimated-revenue floor first. Tiny bases cannot win on % growth alone.
Country volumes
Stored local demand. Not a live crawl of every store in that country.
AI snapshots
Monthly boards for what’s working and where estimated revenue is moving — only months that exist.
How brand owners move through the stack
Pick the next category
Compare two Trending Markets rows on score and estimated revenue. Do not add the parent to the child.
Confirm it is scaling
Open Who’s Scaling. If the market fails the revenue floor, percentage growth is not enough.
Localize a launch
Switch country, then Forecast and Track on that view. Keep the Project country aligned.
For DTC and brand operators who need catalog demand and market ranges before a line extension or geography — not retailer spying and not a sales forecast for your P&L.

Brand owner market research FAQ
Can I see my brand’s actual DTC revenue in TrendMetric?+
No. Estimated revenue and TAM are modeled ranges on catalog markets. They are not connected to your Shopify, Amazon, or wholesale accounts.
How should I read parent versus submarket size?+
Independently. TrendMetric never adds parent and child TAM. Use the child to zoom in; use the parent for the wider category.
Is Who’s Scaling the same as Trending Markets?+
No. Trending Markets is the full scored board. Who’s Scaling ranks markets that already clear a meaningful estimated-revenue floor and still show positive momentum. It is on Pro and Business.
Does AI Market Analysis replace the live market board?+
No. AI uses stored monthly snapshots. Live MarketScore™ and revenue display still live in Trending Markets.
Does TrendMetric replace my wholesale or retailer portal?+
No. Projects are a research folder with country, notes, and catalog IDs. There is no PIM, no retailer login, and no connection to your wholesale accounts.
